In fact, the Championship play-off is often billed as the most lucrative club fixture in football with so much at stake. Last year they finished a disappointing 13th, but under Steve Bruce the Villans have become one of the strongest teams in the division. A little surprisingly, it is Fulham's first time in a play-off final and even more surprisingly this will only be the club's second appearance ever at Wembley. It should be noted that the team scoring first in the Championship play-off final has gone on to win on the last six occasions the final hasn't been goalless. For both Villa and Fulham, another season in the Championship is unthinkable, but only one of them is going up.
